19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks his first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour championship, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet defended four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
